| Linet is embedded into
high performance yachts
Baltic Yachts is a boatyard being famous for it's high quality, progressive yachts. Their philosophy is to build firm, light and luxurious yachts, utilizing high tech components and modern construction solutions. Inside their coming products, Linet network is used to improve functionality and changeability, and to lower weight caused by wiring. The first Baltic to include Linet will be a 'Baltic 43', which will be launched during spring 2000. Linet network is used to control and monitor various electrical appliances in the yacht. It forms the backbone of a sophisticated, fully configurable interior lighting system. It controls navigation lights and indicates broken lamps or other malfunctions. It controls various pumps, fans and other electric loads with built-in timer functions. It will also monitor fluid level in various tanks, and alarm when they reach certain limits. Even more features are planned to be implemented in the future versions. The development work needed to manufacture the modules suitable to be used in yachts or other watercrafts or vehicles, was done by Linet Oy. The body is the standard Linet twisted pair cable network system, so it is applicable to multi-vendor installations - i.e. modules supplied by separate manufacturers operate in the same network, providing they contain the Linet network node. Other manufacturers of electrical
marine equipment interested in this opportunity, or yards interested in
taking Linet control network in use, are kindly welcomed to be in contact
with us.
