| Linet-to-Ethernet link
available from Comsel system
The commonly used Ethernet
network with TCP/IP protocol has been gaining success in industry automation.
It is a proven, standardized system for factory-wide data communications.
Linet is the network that offers the benefits of a reliable, real-time
data communication system to the simplest devices, such as switches, sensors,
relays, alarms, etc.
A link between these systems is available today from Comsel System. Their
'PE80' series I/O-server has been connected to the Linet 'LIC02' controller,
allowing to set outputs and read inputs of each node in this Linet network
via Ethernet. This is a simple and cost effective way to connect a large
number of I/O points to the factory-wide Ethernet. Ethernet operates
then as the 'backbone' system, and separate Linet networks are the 'fingers'
that are connected to the devices on the bottom level.
Application example of such is an alarm system, where the Linet nodes are
connected to various temperature sensors, counters and alarm indicators,
passing their information to and from the process control system.

About the companies: Comsel System Oy operates in industrial networking
and data communications, developing and manufacturing products for standardized
local area networks.
Linet Oy is a privately held company committed in developing and marketing
the Linet network. Products available from Linet are the network chip set
and design services. Linet, 'the light network', is an innovative local
operational network offering easiest design, set-up and administration
in such simple network applications as home automation, alarm systems or
industry automation. The Linet network is patented in the USA and Finland,
other patents are under pending.
