Linet, the provider of the 'Light Network System', announced a technology partnership with HL-Heat that will use the Linet local operational network as the basis of their home automation systems. 

HL-Heat is a company that has operated over 20 years as a dealer, installer and manufacturer of building automation systems. Their core product has been 'HL-Control', that is a high featured heating control system. Other products include burglar alarm systems, ventilation systems and air conditioning. All systems have been installed separately, which has increased the complexity of cabling. Also, a lighting control system had been missing from their product assortment.

"When I was searching for the control network or fielbus I faced a problem", says Mr. Heikki Lehtiniemi, managing director of HL-Heat. "All the available solutions seemed to be either too expensive, too limited or too introvert."

Linet didn't have any of these limitations. The new lighting control system by HL-Heat is based on the Linet network. The same network will be used to transmit control and measurement information of the HL-Control heating controller, as well as the other systems.

"There are many active home builders who want to install a Linet operating network in their house but don't want to begin from a scratch. This is good news for all of them." says Mr. Kalevi Härkönen, project manager of Linet. "They can acquire the Linet network from HL-Heat as modules ready to be installed, and add their own features on it, if desired. Linet is so easy to manage that everyone can be the operator of his own network."
