| Linet-based appliance control solutions for disabled persons under
development by Vaasa Polytechnic
Vaasa Polytechnic currently develops Linet-based appliance control solutions for the elderly and disabled persons. The purpose of the project is to create products and services which improve the safe and easy use of electrical devices. This makes it possible for the elderly and disabled persons to live at home longer, rather than move to institutional care, thus improving the quality of their life. The project is funded by local companies and iWell, a National Technology Agency of Finland (Tekes) technology programme which focuses on the development of competitive well-being technology for the global market. A demo of the results will be presented on 'IT- and Innovations Exhibition'
between 13.-14.9.2001 in Vaasa, Finland. For more information on the event,
please see organizer's web-site www.finn-nolia.fi.
